Department of Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology at Mallige College of Pharmacy plays a vital role in teaching, research, and innovation across the B.Pharm., M.Pharm. (Pharmacology), and Ph.D. programs. The M.Pharm. (Pharmacology) program was established in 2010, followed by the Ph.D. program in 2019. The department has graduated over 190 postgraduate students and currently guides several doctoral scholars.

The department provides comprehensive training in pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacovigilance, drug discovery, and preclinical research. State-of-the-art facilities, including an animal house, zebrafish research facility, molecular biology laboratories, and pharmacological screening units, support both teaching and research activities. Major research areas include neuropharmacology, cancer pharmacology, metabolic disorders, and natural product-based drug discovery. Collaborative partnerships with industry further strengthen research, innovation, training, and industry-academia interaction.
